Tanjung Medical Group comprises specialist diagnostic imaging clinics and a specialist medical centre. The main diagnostic imaging clinic, established since 1976 and known as Penang X-Ray Specialist Klinik is situated at 316-H, Jalan Dato Keramat, Penang.

The group has a whole range of imaging facilities including general X-Rays, fluoroscopic screening, c-arm, portable X-Ray, ultrasound (including power colour doppler 4-D), mammography, spiral CT Scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Tanjung Medical Centre is a 120-bedded fully equipped and modern hospital, providing up-to-date and comprehensive healthcare services. The Centre is centrally and conveniently located in the Pulau Tikus area of George Town, at No. 473 Jalan Burmah, Penang. It started operation on 1st May 1995 and was officially declared opened by the Penang Chief Minister, YAB Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon on 15 July 1995.

The Centre provides medical consultancy services with experienced specialists in the various medical fields. The Centre is equipped with the latest medical facilities, including video-endoscopy, X-rays and fluoroscopy, ultrasonic scan, power colour doppler 4-D ultrasound, spiral CT scan and MRI.

It also has a medical laboratory equipped with advanced computerised automated equipments to give speedy and accurate test results. The Centre also maintains a well stocked pharmacy to meet the patients’ needs and only uses original patented drugs.

Tanjung Medical Centre has three operating theatres and two labour rooms equipped with the latest medical facilities. The Recovery Room, High Dependency Unit and Intensive Care Unit are also equipped with the latest monitoring facilities for round-the-clock care of patients. It also has a Nursery complete with modern equipment, including special photo therapy units.

Tanjung Medical Centre was set up to provide modern and up-to-date healthcare facilities for the people of Penang, other northern states of Malaysia, and the neighbouring countries of Thailand and Indonesia. The mission of the Centre is to provide the best possible healthcare with minimal costs. The Centre is also actively promoting medical tourism to complement the efforts of the Penang State Tourism Council to make Penang the preferred choice destination for tourists seeking the best and affordable medical care.
